Welcome to Still Alive's Blog site!

/welcome and /wave to all newcomers and visitors!
This Blog has been created to provide an out-of-game point of comunication for all Guild members.

We started out with just a small group of 8 or so members in late 2007. We now number approximately 20 regular players.

We strive to take the 'Family' approach to World of Warcraft. All polite and friendly players are warmly welcomed.
That said, we don't shy away from the full set of Raids that  Northrend has to offer either. We're here to show that End of Game Content doesn't have to meen "Hard Core Raiding" ;)

We're now working on Ulduar and Eye of Eternity, and regularly raiding Naxxramas.

Coilfang - Steam Vaults

Well, we didn't go for heroic after all, but maybe that would have been just a touch too tough ;)
This week we welcomed Fimro to the run for the first time. Our first level 70 Rogue!
We had, Obsidanse, Felixes, Anylrama, Fimro and a welcome return from Trulsan as our healer.
From start to first boss, there's a pretty open area. In every corner is a Giant Bog Lord. Simple enough to take down without hindrance, but deadly if caught unawares!
Naturally, there was plenty to hinder!
Several groups of Water Elemental patrol the zone, all moving close to clusters of 3-4 Caster/Mellee mixed groups.
Carefull work selecting one of the mixed group to freeze with a trap (ussually a caster) is needed, or you could end up being overwelmed with healing enemies or OP cast attacks!
2 and a half years experience of being a hunter has given Felixes the incredible skill to freeze any or the group easily. Had we not had him along, I'm not sure if it would have been nearly as easy ;)
Well, first boss was pretty much a pushover. She's got two Water guardians, but keeping her on the tank while the rest deal with the guards makes the whole thing easier.
Make sure you switch on the machine behind her, you'll need it to get to the third boss!
Back we go to the two guards at the tunnel.
Similar situation of patrolling groups, all the way round to the entrance to boss two. Pulling them back into the corridor helps a lot, as thier fear effect isn't a welcome spanner in the works in such an open area!
But having cleared these, we find the door ahead is locked! Time to find the second locking machine..
Turn right and find a large packs of non-elite Meat-Treats....sorry Gnomes....Is seems the traitorous little devils are supplying help to the Naga in the form of one of thier Gnomregan robots!
Keep the Metal Meance on the tank while making sure the Gnome adds don't get out of hand.
Health levels got a bit dicey towards the end on this one, but I think we avoided any deaths that time :)
Finally, on to Mr Big!
After switching off the Gnomes lock and returning to the landing, we've got a load more mixed groups of Naga to dispatch....ahh bliss ^_^
Ok, this boss took a little bit of work, but it's mainly down to method rather than power.
He's not greatly powerful in himself, but he uses tanks of water set at points around his room in order to heal himself and go into rage mode!
Whilst you keep him on the tank, keep an eye out for which water tank he goes for, and smash the thing as soon as possible!
After we figured that out, he was ALMOST a breaze :)
Incredible work by all. Anylrama is showing massive signs of improvement to gear al round, Felixes continues to be a dab hand with the bow, Fimro is our new capable Rogue (with potty agro! lol) and of course the Legendary Trulsan, with bonus healing of 2000+ I believe *_*
Oh, and Obsi...who's slowly getting some epic tanking gear together at last hehe
